This is Ann’s early morning walk with the dogs; Across Church field through the churchyard, skirt Lorton Park and you quickly find yourself in High Lorton. Discover Wordsworth’s famous yew tree (thought to be thousand year old). Search for the original Jennings’s Brewery buildings.
Take your choice from the old lanes and bridleways leading up onto Kirkfell or through the farming hamlet of Scales and onto Swinside.

Stop off at Bill and Heather’s farm in Scales for an afternoon’s trout fishing. You won’t come home without the freshest trout you’ve ever tasted and we will cook it for your dinner.
